BIO

Jill Mueller is an American-British interdisciplinary artist in London who works with text and visual imagery. In her practice, Jill weaves together documentary and imaginary worlds to explore the ordinary-extraordinary experiences of humans and the natural world we belong to. Her work is influenced by her fascination with personal stories and takes a specific interest in health, our relationship to nature, and how we make meaning of our experiences. The materials and techniques she uses change in response to each project: from hands-on approaches that include alternative photographic techniques, embroidery, printmaking and mixed-media, to digitally based work with archive imagery and creative writing.

In addition to exhibiting her work in a variety of settings from galleries to hospitals, Jill lectures regularly, gives talks and conducts workshops focused around art and health. She has a wide skill set in outreach, public engagement, cultural programming and organisational administration, including work with sensitive populations or topics, different cultures and children. She holds an MA in Art and Science with distinction from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, and is an Honorary Lecturer for University College London's Insitute for Women' Health.
